Policy Brief [Part I]: Annual Status of Preschool Education in Gilgit-Baltistan 2013
International human rights conventions have recognized the right to education. This right has been established by a succession of UN Conventions, from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). For Pakistan, the 100% coverage of universal primary education among children of age 5-10 years is one of the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to be achieved by the year 2015. The indicators set in Pakistan and their respective targets are given in figure 1.
